It's about 4AM in Tokyo, Thursday, June 24. Besides a messed up internal clock, I'm up early to go visit the world's largest fish market: Tsukiji Fish Market. A JFMF (Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund) teacher highly recommended this site and listed it as one of her favorites when she visited Japan a few years ago--even for a person who doesn't eat fish.
Yesterday was a very exciting but tiring day. I slept and watched a couple of movies on the long flight (Leap Year and The Last Station--film about Tolstonians). We checked into our hotel, Keio Plaza Hotel in downtown Tokyo, then divided into several smaller groups to go out for dinner. Several Japanese teachers were our hosts, guiding us to various restaurants. I selected the group going to the noodle restaurant.
Here's a short clip of our walk:
(give it time to load before viewing...could someone please let me know if this isn't working?)

Oh...that is sooo cool!!! Jealous!! How could a language arts teacher justify going to Japan? Hmmmm.... Keep taking pics and video, Gisele, this is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, a LA teacher could DEFINITELY apply for this, as well as the Toyota program! We are a diverse group of teachers here, and the same last year in Costa Rica. This is NOT just for science teachers: we have art, social studies, librarians, admin., etc. I can share with you some of the projects I've seen.
